The Department for Literary Promotion supports the translation of literary works written by French speaking Belgian authors from the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.
!! The procedure for granting translation subsidies will undergo major change in 2025. Eventually, applications will have to be submitted by the publisher of the original work in French.
In 2024, the procedure remains unchanged: foreign publishers can still apply for translation grants.

About the European College for literary translators of Seneffe : CTLS.
In August 2024, Passa Porta will be organising a new edition of its literary residency (translation and writing) "Seneffe en août". Supported by the Wallonia-Brussels Federation with the aim of promoting the translation of French-speaking Belgian literature and encouraging the circulation of our authors abroad, the residency provides translators from all over the world with an ideal environment: the renovated outbuildings of the Château de Seneffe and its park, a serene space in which to work. To be accepted into the residence, translators must submit a project to translate a signed text by a French-speaking Belgian author into their own language.
Applications must be sent by 15 February 2024 at the latest, by e-mail, to this address: seneffe@passaporta.be. Applicants will be informed of their selection (or not) in March 2024, after deliberation by the committee.

Concernant la résidence de Seneffe pour les traducteurs littéraires :
En août 2024, Passa Porta organisera une nouvelle édition de sa résidence littéraire (traduction et écriture) "Seneffe en août". Soutenue par la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles avec pour objectif de promouvoir la traduction des lettres belges francophones et de favoriser la circulation de nos auteurs et autrices à l’étranger, la résidence met à disposition des traducteurs et traductrices du monde entier un environnement idéal : les dépendances rénovées du Château de Seneffe et son parc, soit un espace-temps serein pour travailler. Pour être accueillis en résidence, les traducteurs et traductrices doivent présenter un projet de traduction d’un texte signé d’un auteur ou d’une autrice belge francophone vers leur langue.
Pour un encadrement confortable pour tous et toutes, la durée des séjours sera comprise entre deux semaines (minimum) et un mois (maximum).
Les candidatures sont à envoyer au plus tard pour le 15 février 2024, par mail, à cette adresse : seneffe(at)passaporta.be. Les candidats seront informés de leur sélection (ou non) au cours du mois de mars 2024, après délibération du comité.
